Spent Christmas at this cozy lakeside resort and it was a great experience! The cabin had everything we needed, from pots and pans to cleaning supplies, saving us the hassle of bringing our own. The check-in process was smooth and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The location was perfect, nestled in the woods with a beautiful view of the lake. The beds were incredibly comfortable, like sleeping on a cloud. The continental breakfast was delicious and had a great variety of fresh options. We also enjoyed the use of the kayaks and paddle boat, which added to the fun of our stay.
One drawback was that the lake water was a bit murky and weedy, so swimming wasn't ideal. Additionally, we were disappointed that the cabins weren't pet-friendly, as my daughter couldn't stay with us due to her dog.

I gotta say, the value for money at this place was spot on. The room was spacious, squeaky clean, and oh so peaceful. And let me tell you about the location - right on the lake with a pier that was perfect for sitting and unwinding. It had that classic "up north" resort vibe that I absolutely adored. Plus, the staff here were simply wonderful. The woman who checked us in was a total gem and made us feel right at home. Can't recommend this place enough.
When it comes to breakfast options, I would suggest adding a bit more variety. Maybe some different fruits, veggies, bagels, and a waffle maker would really amp it up.

We had a great time at this lakeside resort! The location was perfect, right on the serene lake, and we loved being able to use the paddle boats, kayaks, and canoes that were provided. It was a real treat to be surrounded by such beautiful nature. The owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The bed in our room was so comfortable, we slept like babies. And the view from our room was absolutely stunning, especially in the morning and evening.
One downside of our stay was that the additional sofa bed in our room wasn't as comfortable as we would have liked. It would have been better if there had been a real second bed instead.

The location was stunning with a beautiful view of the lake from my corner room, which had large windows on two walls. The staff were amazing, always accommodating and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable, with a good AC, fridge, and TV. The bathroom was great and the bedding was lovely. I loved that they provided kayaks and paddleboards for guests to use. It was the perfect place to unplug and relax.
The WiFi was slow and unreliable, which made it difficult to work or stay connected.

My recent stay at Hanging Horn Lakeside Resort was a wonderful getaway. The beautiful location and stunning views of the lake immediately made me feel relaxed and at peace. I couldn't get enough of the stand-up paddle-boards, which were available for free and added an exciting element to my stay. Starting my morning with a cup of coffee on the dock, overlooking the serene surroundings, was truly a treat. I even indulged in borrowing one of the DVDs provided, making my evenings cozy and enjoyable. The amenities offered were fantastic, and the hosts were incredibly accommodating throughout my time there. I highly recommend this resort to anyone seeking a weekend escape.
While the cabins had a slight humidity smell, it didn't significantly diminish the overall experience. Additionally, the door locks were a bit troublesome, often getting stuck and requiring some effort to open and close.

The value for money at Hanging Horn Lakeside Resort was outstanding, especially considering the stunning lake views from the cozy wood cabin-like rooms. The staff was incredibly accommodating and pleasant, even providing us with a flashlight for our nighttime dock adventures. The private and serene setting was perfect for enjoying the beauty of nature, and we had a blast exploring the lake with the free kayaks.
The hotel breakfast menu could benefit from a wider variety of options.
